Job summary

Pantry d’Or Boutique Bakery in Rotorua is seeking a Senior Bakery Assistant to join a busy team. The role supports bakers with daily production and requires at least 12 months in a commercial bakery or pastry environment.

The position is permanent, full-time, paying NZ$25-$28 per hour, with 30+ guaranteed hours weekly and rostered shifts including 2:00 am starts, weekends and public holidays when required. Reliable transport is preferred for early hours. Training may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of relevant commercial bakery or pastry production experience.
• Experience weighing and measuring ingredients for bakery production.
• Understanding of food safety, cleanliness and allergen control.
• Availability for early-morning shifts and weekend rosters.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare ingredients for bakers and pastry cooks.
• Weigh and measure flour, yeast, sugar, fats and other ingredients accurately.
• Prepare baking trays, tins, utensils and workstations before production.
• Assist with dough and sourdough preparation, kneading and shaping.
• Operate mixers and other bakery equipment safely.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitize benches and equipment.
• Rotate stock and assist with receiving and organizing bakery supplies.
