Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of relevant bakery or pastry-production experience.
• Experience weighing and measuring ingredients for bakery production.
• Experience assisting with dough or sourdough preparation and shaping.
• Experience safely operating commercial bakery equipment.
• Understanding of food safety, cleanliness and allergen controls.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift items as needed.
• Willingness to work early shifts and weekends; rosters may include public holidays.
• Reliable transport to attend all shifts, including early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare ingredients for bakers and pastry cooks.
• Weigh and measure flour, yeast, sugar, fats and other ingredients.
• Prepare trays, tins and workstations before production.
• Assist with dough and sourdough preparation under supervision.
• Assist with mixing, kneading, dividing, shaping and placing dough.
• Safely operate mixers and other bakery equipment.
• Monitor processes and report concerns to the bakery team.
• Store ingredients and finished products properly; rotate stock.
• Assist with receiving and organizing bakery supplies.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work areas and equipment.
• Follow food-safety, allergen-control and WHS procedures.
