Job summary

Foodies in New Zealand is seeking an experienced bakery leader to partner with store teams, lift bakery operations and deliver positive outcomes across our network. Reporting to the Bakery Lead, you will coach team leaders, conduct regular store visits, ensure health and safety standards, support new store setups, and drive ranging, sourcing, pricing and promotions to grow the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a bakery department in a retail organisation and/or a relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience in business analysis, identifying trends and recognising potential operational issues
• Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and mediation skills, along with FMCG experience
• Exposure to operational or fresh food management, including ranging, sourcing, pricing and promotions
• Experience in category management for medium to large merchandise brands, with strong attention to operational detail
• A full driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring Bakery Team Leaders and their teams to strengthen capability and performance
• Conducting regular store visits, preparing comprehensive business reports and identifying opportunities through business and trend analysis
• Supporting stores to meet health, safety and food safety standards, including expectations set for food retailers and wholesalers
• Completing Technical Sign Offs for Trainee Operators, while supporting new store setups and refurbishments
• Helping stores implement business strategies and improve bakery operations, ranging, sourcing, pricing and promotional activity
