NWT is hiring a Bakery Manager to lead daily bakery operations, drive sales and gross profit, and manage wage costs in a customer-focused environment. You will recruit, train, and develop the team while ensuring food safety, quality, and price integrity across the department.

You will oversee stock, displays, and supplier orders, with a focus on reducing waste and improving efficiency. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in a bakery leadership role within a supermarket or similar environment.
• Preferably a qualified Baker.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop others.
• Strong knowledge of bakery operations, food safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and a positive, customer-focused attitude.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to manage costs and identify sales opportunities.
• SAP and computer system experience (preferred but not essential).
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.

Responsabilités

• Lead and oversee day-to-day bakery operations.
• Drive departmental performance to exceed sales, gross profit, and wage targets.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.
• Create effective rosters to meet operational requirements and wage targets.
• Ensure all bakery products meet quality, presentation, and food safety standards.
• Manage ordering, stock control, rotation, and stocktakes to maximise availability and minimise waste.
• Maintain attractive displays and drive sales growth through new product opportunities.
• Ensure 100% price integrity across the department.
• Manage customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Food Control Plan requirements.
• Oversee maintenance and safe operation of bakery equipment and machinery.
• Foster a clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
