Job summary

New World Waimate, part of Foodstuffs South Island Limited, is seeking a passionate fixed-term Deli/Bakery Assistant to join our team. The role requires early morning starts and weekend shifts, with potential for additional hours.

You will help with food preparation, production, packing and presentation, uphold our strict food control program, and contribute to a positive team environment. Applicants must have NZ work eligibility and a willingness to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Able to perform physical tasks and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist deli/bakery operations including prep, production, packing and presentation.
• Maintain our strict food control program and hygiene standards.
• Work early mornings and weekends, with potential for additional shifts.
• Collaborate with team members and take initiative as needed.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow in the role.

We are looking for a passionate, fixed term Deli/Bakery Assistant to join our team at New World Waimate.

The hours require early morning starts and a weekend day with potential for additional shifts from time to time.

We are looking for:

• A passion for food and maintaining our strict food control program
• Has a love for baking and decorating
• Good knowledge of cooking, production, packing and presentation
• Strong teamwork, initiative and can work independently.
• Honest, reliable and a positive attitude
• Physically fit (you will be on your feet all day with some heavy lifting)
• A willingness to learn and grow
