Job summary

Christchurch City Mission is seeking a fixed-term coordinator to support local whānau with school uniforms, shoes and stationery, Monday–Friday 9am–5pm. This hands-on role helps children start school ready to thrive and requires organisation and compassionate communication.

You’ll assess eligibility, coordinate orders and collections, and connect families with additional support. A community-focused approach and knowledge of local social services will help you make an immediate difference.

Qualifications

• Frontline, organisation, and care-focused work experience.
• Exposure to social services or community support networks is advantageous.
• Understanding of school uniform, footwear, and stationery support processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Be the trusted first contact for Back-to-School enquiries.
• Assess eligibility and guide whānau through the process with respect.
• Coordinate orders, purchase orders and collections.
• Connect clients with further support when needed.
• Maintain accurate records and reporting.
