Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking a Safety Management System (SMS) Delivery Lead to shape safety practices across Aircraft Maintenance and Delivery. You will lead the delivery and evolution of the SMS, working with regulators, auditors and frontline leaders to turn insights into practical improvements.

Based in Auckland, you will coach teams, embed Human Factors and fatigue management, and drive continuous safety performance. This is a full-time role within a high-regulation environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in aviation maintenance or a regulated environment.
Strong knowledge of CAANZ parts 100, 145, 43, 66, 147 and 119.
Experience delivering SMS or safety programmes.

Responsibilities

Lead SMS initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Partner with operational leaders to embed proactive safety practices.
Coordinate and prioritise SMS work programmes across teams.
Champion Human Factors and fatigue management programmes.
Build relationships with regulators, auditors and assurance teams.
Translate safety data and risk insights into practical actions.
Coach leaders to strengthen safety ownership and drive lasting change.
