Job summary

T&G Global Limited is seeking a hands-on Packhouse Automation Specialist for our Whakatu packhouse in Hawke's Bay. You will help keep automated packing systems running at peak performance and support continuous improvement across operations.

The role focuses on troubleshooting automation, monitoring system data, training operators and collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Quality and IT teams to improve reliability and productivity.

What You'll Be Doing

• Troubleshooting and optimising automated packhouse machinery and systems
• Monitoring performance, downtime and production data to identify improvements
• Supporting operators with training and machine expertise
• Working alongside Engineering, Operations, Quality and IT teams
• Managing automation settings, labelling systems, traceability and data integrity
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the packhouse

What We're Looking For

• Experience with automation systems, fault finding and machinery troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of Ignition software and SAP
• Experience training or supporting operators and production teams
• A continuous improvement mindset and a practical, hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple teams

Bonus points if you have

• PLC programming or logic experience
• Knowledge of electrical control systems, pneumatics or industrial networking
• Experience in a manufacturing, food processing or post-harvest environment
