We are seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Technician to join the team at Next Gen Autos in Silverdale, Auckland. This is a full-time position where you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standards. As an Auto Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing routine maintenance, and executing repairs on a diverse range of vehicles. Your expertise and attention to detail will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and the reputation of our business.
Diagnosing vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and identifying the root causes of mechanical and electrical problems
Performing scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups and brake inspections
Repairing and replacing vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems and electrical components
Conducting road tests to verify repairs have been completed successfully and vehicles are operating as intended
Maintaining detailed and accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
Communicating effectively about repairs needed, costs involved and timelines for completion
Adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
Keeping up to date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
A recognised automotive technician qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience in automotive repair and maintenance
Proven experience working on a range of vehicle makes and models
Strong diagnostic skills with proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment and software
Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in modern vehicles
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Valid driver's licence and ability to drive vehicles safely as part of work duties
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle technology is highly desirable
