Job summary

MITO New Zealand is seeking an Automotive Spray Painter to join a busy, well-equipped workshop known for quality workmanship. If you are an apprentice, this is an ideal chance to level up; experienced or qualified tradespeople are encouraged to apply.

You will prepare panels, mix paints, apply base and clear coats, and ensure a high-quality finish while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and working alongside the workshop team to meet deadlines. NZ residency or valid NZ visa required.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive spray painting.
• Knowledge of automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.
• Reliable, motivated, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Trade qualification is advantageous but not essential, with proven experience.

• Colour matching and mixing paints to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Applying base coats, clear coats, and refinishing vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Buffing, polishing, and completing final quality checks.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
• Working alongside panel beaters and the wider workshop team to meet deadlines.
