Job summary

2 Cheap Cars Group Limited is seeking an Automotive Spray Painter / Panel & Paint Technician to join our Christchurch workshop. You will prepare panels, carry out body repairs and paint refinishing, refit components, and mix automotive coatings to our standards.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in vehicle painting or related automotive work, with a strong eye for detail and a solid commitment to quality.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Vehicle Painting or progressive experience in the automotive industry with exposure to vehicle surface preparation, refinishing, or paint-related work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces to a high retail standard.
  • Carry out body repairs, vehicle preparation, and paint refinishing work.
  • Remove, repair, and refit vehicle panels, trims, and associated components.
  • Mix and apply automotive paint coatings in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete cosmetic repairs and restoration work on company vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicles are repaired, prepared, and presented to a high standard within required timeframes.
  • Maintain quality workmanship to minimise rework and vehicle returns.
  • Accurately record labour, parts, and repair details.
  • Meet productivity, quality, and compliance KPIs.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
  • Follow Health & Safety policies and safe work practices.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hold and maintain a current New Zealand Driver Licence.

As an Automotive Painter / Panel & Paint Technician, your responsibilities will include:
