Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
Stuff reaches millions of New Zealanders every month, and behind every comment, competition and click there's a real person who wants to feel heard. That's where you come in.
We're looking for a highly organised, people-first Audience Engagement Assistant to join our Audience team for a six-month fixed term. You'll be the friendly, sharp voice connecting our audience to Stuff, whether they're asking a question, entering a competition, or joining the conversation in the comments.
Answering audience queries across email, online forms and social DMs, knowing exactly when to solve it yourself and when to loop in the team.
Keeping our comment sections lively, respectful and on-topic by monitoring and moderating discussions in line with our community guidelines.
Helping plan and run company events, both virtual (Zoom, livestreams) and in-person, from AV setup to catering to ticketing.
Owning competitions start to finish: promotion, entries, draws, winner notifications, T&Cs compliance and prize fulfilment (yes, that includes the fun bit of telling someone they've won).
Jumping in wherever needed in a lean, fast-paced team, because no two days look the same.
A customer service mindset and genuine care for getting things right, including handling sensitive details with discretion.
Experience in community management, comment moderation, or a similarly people-facing role.
Confidence with Google Workspace and collaborative tools like Slack and Zoom.
Event coordination experience, whether that's webinars, in-person logistics, or vendor wrangling.
Sharp written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail.
A tertiary qualification in Communications, Business, Marketing, Journalism, Design, Technology, HR or similar (or equivalent experience we value what you can do as much as what's on paper).
A knack for staying calm and organised when priorities shift fast.
