Job summary

Egis in New Zealand is seeking an Associate Engineer to plan and deliver technically complex Building and Structures projects across local and national scopes. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams and liaise with clients to ensure design and construction excellence.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in Buildings and Structures within consultancy, accredited engineering degree, CPEng status, and NZ codes familiarity. The role offers flexible arrangements and a collaborative, entrepreneurial team.

Qualifications

• Accredited tertiary qualifications in Engineering with Structural Engineering expertise.
• Local knowledge of New Zealand Engineering codes and principles.
• CPEng status.
• Low to Minimal Risk Registration with Auckland Council (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Excellent client management skills with established network within local market.
• Demonstrated expertise in the management and successful delivery of projects of scope.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate technical information to non-engineers.
• Experience managing a project team to deliver high-profile projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders, authorities, clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise through the project lifecycle to deliver practical and economical solutions that meet client requirements.
• Lead planning and management of medium to large-scale projects within timeframes and budget.
• Manage project performance, financials, and resource planning.
• Contribute to training and development of junior engineers and project resources.
• Act as project liaison, monitor progress and provide project status reports to clients.
• Develop and maintain positive client relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction and service delivery.
• Prepare and review high-level and complex technical reports.
