Job summary

CDC Data Centres is seeking an Associate Service Technician (24/7) in New Zealand to support customers and maintenance teams, monitor critical infrastructure, and ensure uptime. You will engage with technicians and contractors, respond rapidly to incidents, and help with reporting and restoration of services.

The role welcomes candidates from trades or non-trade backgrounds who are motivated to learn, with strong Office 365 skills and excellent communication.

• Experience in technical environments such as telecommunications, fibre, fire systems, IT, industrial facilities.
• Ability to identify risks and develop practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience collaborating with internal teams and external service providers.

Responsibilities

About the role:

The Associate Service Technician 24/7 position is a vital role that significantly contributes to the continuity and efficiency of our Data Centre Operations teams. The Associate Service Technician role is designed to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and to ensure the continued customer satisfaction and data centre uptime we are known for. This role encompasses supporting customers, maintenance and monitoring activities, and is a key role in CDC's career pathways initiative with investment in learning and development opportunities, as we empower our teams for future growth.

Other responsibilities include:

• Support and engage with Customers, Service Technicians and contractors undertaking support activities and overseeing maintenance works.
• Monitor critical infrastructure to ensure continuity of services and no disruption to client's or business operations.
• Utilise electronic monitoring systems to proactively oversee and monitor site conditions.
• Respond to customer requests and critical events swiftly,
• Ensure personnel are performing activities safely and in accordance with CDC's processes and procedures.
• Provide timely reporting of events, and support restoration to normal operations.

Essential:

New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident with the ability to obtain a NZ Security Clearance.
