Job summary

The Access Group is seeking an Associate Product Manager to join the Unleashed team in a blended Auckland office setup. You will shape product direction, gather requirements from stakeholders, and translate them into a well-prioritized backlog while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.

You will work within an Agile environment, participate in sprint ceremonies, monitor product performance, and ensure the product delivers exceptional user experiences.

About you:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Product Manager to join our dynamic Unleashed team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, and the ability to translate complex customer needs into actionable product requirements. As an Associate Product Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet business goals and user needs. You’ll have a natural growth mindset and drive to achieve great outcomes for Unleashed customers and the Access business.

Day-to-day, you will:

• Influence and communicate the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Gather and prioritize requirements from stakeholders, translating them into detailed product backlog items.
• Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it is visible, transparent, and understood as requirements and opportunities change.
• Conduct customer/market research, analyze data, and monitor industry trends to inform product decisions and identify opportunities.
• Track and report on product performance using key metrics.
• Participating/leading in sprint planning, grooming, and all ceremonies through the sprint period.
• Collaborate closely with development teams during sprints to clarify requirements and ensure timely delivery of features.
• Communicating the product roadmap, features and bugs to engineering colleagues and wider cross-functional business when required.
• Monitoring progress, reporting delivery progress and escalating risks and challenges.
• Processing and analysing key product data to influence decision making and ensure maximise value is delivered to the target customers.
• Ensure the product meets the highest quality standards and delivers exceptional user experiences.
• Communicate with stakeholders, maintaining open lines of communication and managing expectations.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Key performance indicators:

• Sprint success rate
• 3 sprints ahead of groomed backlog
• Backlog maintained and prioritised daily
• Reporting and measuring success of consumption and outcomes of features delivered
• Bugs processed daily to support exceptional customer experience
• Leading appropriate ceremonies and processes (Planning, grooming, release ceremonies)
• Creating feature delivery documentation including HLSD, Epics, User Stories, & helpfiles at specified project milestones
• Daily risk review of In Progress development
• Present progress updates of development work on a semi-weekly basis
• Daily review & processing of inbound customer feedback

Your skills and experiences might also include:

• At least 3 years’ experience in SaaS software
• Proficiency in product lifecycle management, from ideation to end-of-life. 3-4 years proven experience working product development processes and frameworks.
• Strong experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and align diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to gather and prioritize requirements from diverse stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to interpret data and market trends.
• Basic technical understanding and the ability to effectively collaborate with development teams.
• Proven leadership skills and experience guiding cross-functional teams to successful product deliveries. Can demonstrate leading diverse teams and people to achieve common goals.
• Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., ADO, Aha, Productboard)
• Relevant Product certifications are a plus.
