Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

At ASB, we're committed to helping New Zealanders achieve their goals and supporting the businesses that help our economy thrive. Our Corporate Banking team partners with some of New Zealand's leading organisations, providing strategic banking solutions, industry insights, and trusted advice that enable long‑term growth and success.

We're looking for an experienced banking professional to join our Corporate Banking team as an Associate Client Director, supporting our Social Infrastructure portfolio.

Working alongside an Executive Director and Client Director, you'll help manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients operating across New Zealand's social infrastructure sectors, including retirement villages, aged care and social housing. You'll play a key role in developing client strategies, providing trusted advice, leading credit submissions, and delivering tailored banking solutions that support the long‑term growth and sustainability of these essential sectors.

This is a highly visible role where you'll build strong relationships with CEOs, CFOs, Boards, and other senior decision-makers, while supporting clients through complex financing opportunities and strategic business initiatives. Working closely with ASB's specialist product teams and Risk Management partners, you'll help deliver innovative, advice‑led solutions that create meaningful value for customers and communities across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the management and growth of a Corporate Banking portfolio focused on Social Infrastructure clients.
  • Developing and executing client plans aligned to industry trends, customer needs, and ASB's Corporate Banking strategy.
  • Leading credit analysis and credit writing for new clients and business opportunities.
  • Supporting and leading transaction origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution activities.
  • Working closely with Risk Management and Product teams to develop innovative, sustainable solutions and drive positive customer outcomes
  • Building trusted relationships with CEOs, CFOs, Boards of Directors, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities to acquire new clients and deepen existing relationships.
  • Representing ASB at key industry events and forums to strengthen relationships and enhance ASB's profile within the Social Infrastructure sector

You’ll bring strong commercial acumen, relationship management capability and a passion for helping organisations that play a critical role in supporting New Zealand communities.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience, ideally 5+ years, within Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking, Investment Banking or wider Financial Services.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate lending, treasury solutions, and complex financing structures across working capital, term capital, and capital management.
  • Demonstrated financial analysis, modelling and credit risk management capability.
  • Prior experience within the retirement village and aged care sectors, as well as previous experience in property development lending will be favourable.
  • Experienced in managing complex client relationships and delivering customer‑focused outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Exposure to, or experience working with organisations in the retirement living, aged care, social housing, or broader social infrastructure sectors will be highly regarded.
  • An interest in industry trends, market dynamics, and opportunities within New Zealand's Social Infrastructure sector.
