Job summary

British American Tobacco New Zealand is seeking an Assistant Insights Manager in Auckland to drive data-led commercial decisions and growth across key accounts.

You will develop and track account plans, analyse sales trends, and partner with sales, marketing and finance to unlock opportunities. A strong FMCG background and proficiency with PowerBI and other consumer insights tools are highly valued. BAT offers a competitive bonus and development opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, business, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in account or category management, preferably FMCG.
  • Passion for data, strategy, and market insights to drive performance.
  • Strong understanding of commercial finance and marketing principles.

British American Tobacco New Zealand has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Insights Manager in Auckland.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Develop, implement, and track key account plans that drive distribution and commercial growth.
  • Build account plans with sales, volume, and share targets which aligning with overall business goals.
  • Establish sustainable, profitable relationships with key accounts and external partners to drive long-term growth.
  • Measure critical metrics ensuring alignment with global and end-market governance standards.
  • Manage business-critical projects end-to-end, including scoping, partners alignment, and tracking breakthroughs.
  • Analyze sales and market trends, preparing actionable recommendations to optimize distribution and investment strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally to foster a culture of innovation, streamline processes, and implement creative strategies.

What are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in account or category management, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • A passion for data, strategy, and market insights to drive performance.
  • Strong understanding of commercial finance and marketing principles, their application in account profitability.
  • Experience in use of IRI Aztec/ Circana Temple, Nielsen, PowerBI and exposure to other forms of consumer and shopper insight methods
  • Advanced MS Word/Excel/Power Point & general computer skills
  • A collaborative, data driven approach and excellent communication skill.
  • Experience in FMCG, retail, or emerging categories is a plus!
