Job summary

Avondale College in Auckland is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Director of Mathematics and Statistics to lead with strong knowledge of the NCEA and Cambridge curricula. You will teach Mathematics and Statistics to Years 7–15 / wharekura, support the director, and contribute to the school’s academic and co‑curricular life.

The role is full‑time and permanent, with a base salary under the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement ranging from 64,083 to 103,086 NZD per year,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the NCEA and/or Cambridge curricula.
• Experience teaching mathematics at secondary level.
• Ability to support the director and foster departmental excellence.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of mathematics with strong knowledge of the NCEA and/or Cambridge curricula. The successful applicant will bring both subject expertise and a passion for teaching while supporting the director in fostering excellence within the department.

Applicants for positions at Avondale College must be New Zealand registered teachers and will endorse the school’s academic priority as well as be expected to participate in the extensive co-curricular life of the school.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $64,083 to $103,086 depending on applicants' qualifications and experience. Individuals' actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
