Job summary

The Warehouse Group is seeking an Assistant Area Delivery Manager to support the Area Delivery Manager in delivering safe, compliant, and high‑performing fulfilment operations across The Warehouse Group brands in Dunedin.

You will lead a small team, focus on people leadership, safety, and continuous improvement, and collaborate with store managers, DC teams, and HR partners to align operations with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Support the Area Delivery Manager in achieving DC operational performance targets.

• Ensure customer and fulfilment records are accurately maintained.
• Lead and develop a team of fulfilment leaders and team members.
• Support workforce planning, scheduling, and training for safety and ops needs.
• Build a high-performance culture aligned to policies and values.
• Collaborate with Store Managers, DC Managers, Merchandising and Buying teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance customer outcomes.
• Use data and insights to inform decisions and improvements.

Job Description

TheAssistant Area Delivery Managersupports the Area Delivery Manager in delivering safe, compliant, and high-performing fulfilment operations. This role plays a critical part in coordinating fulfilment teams, ensuring service excellence across The Warehouse Group brands, and supporting the ongoing commercial viability of the business.

With direct leadership responsibility for a small team, this role is ideal for a developing operational leader who enjoys being hands-on, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about people leadership, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Operational Support & Performance

• Support the Area Delivery Manager in achieving DC operational performance targets
• Deliver service level agreements,customerand store service KPIs, and stock control targets
• Ensure customer and fulfilment records are accurately maintained
• Ensure the movement and storage of goods is completed effectively and efficiently
• Linemanage, coach, and develop a team of fulfilment leaders and team members
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, scheduling, and training to meet safety and operational requirements
• Build a high-performance culture aligned to company policies and values

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all operationscomply withhealth and safety regulations and company policies
• Promote a proactive safety culture through training, engagement, and regular audits
• Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and contribute to a safe working environment

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Store Managers, DC Managers, Merchandising, and Category Buying teams to align operations with business objectives
• Partner with the Safety Partner and HRBP on people, wellbeing, and compliance matters
• Collaborate with NLG Accounts Payable, Fleet, and Facilities & Maintenance teams to support seamless operations
• Build strong working relationships with 3PLlogisticspartners and suppliers to ensure service quality and reliability
• Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives across operations and ways of working
• Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance customer outcomes
• Use data and insights to support informed decision-making and operational improvements

Qualifications

• Experience inlogistics, supply chain, distribution, or fulfilment operations
• Proven experience leading or supervising teams in an operational environment
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements and compliance
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to use data to drive outcomes
