Job summary

Hynds Hornby is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager, keeping operations running smoothly and guiding a team to deliver exceptional customer service in a locally owned Kiwi business.

You will back day-to-day management, coach staff, and ensure customer solutions while helping the branch hit its targets and maintain safety standards. A clear leadership path is offered within a 50+ year history of Hynds in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and leadership potential.
• Calm, organized with good attention to detail.
• Proficient with Outlook and Excel; M3 is a bonus.
• Class 1 licence with F endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Back the branch manager’s day-to-day and step up when they’re away.
• Coach and train the team to deliver great service.
• Look after customers and find the right solutions.
• Help the branch hit targets and identify new sales opportunities.
• Maintain safety as a priority and follow Hynds’ policies.

You'll help keep the branch running smoothly, look after our customers, and support a great team. What You'll Be Doing:

• Backing the branch manager’s day‑to‑day and stepping up when they’re away
• Helping the team shine through coaching and on‑the‑job training
• Looking after customers and finding them the right solutions
• Helping the branch hit its targets and spot new sales opportunities
• Having Safety as a priority at all times and doing things the Hynds way

What You'll Bring:

• Customer service experience, ideally with some team leading
• A can‑do attitude and a head for business
• Calm, organised and good with detail
• Confident with Outlook and Excel (M3 a bonus)
• Class 1 licence with F endorsement
