Job summary

RealNZ is seeking an experienced Asset Manager based in Te Anau to lead asset management for our vehicle fleet and infrastructure. You will work hands-on with technicians and contractors while applying strategic thinking to plan ahead and improve asset reliability.

You'll own budgets, lifecycle planning and improvement projects, driving sustainability and reduced downtime across Fiordland's remote sites. Occasional travel and after-hours support are part of the role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in asset management across asset-intensive environments.
• Proven track record in maintenance planning at scale.
• Experience supporting or managing an EAM system (Maximo, SAP, or similar).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across the business.

Job description

At RealNZ, our vehicles and infrastructure play a vital role in connecting our guests with some of the most spectacular places in Aotearoa, from Milford Sound to Doubtful Sound, Walter Peak and Rakiura.

We're looking for an experienced Asset Manager who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in, while bringing the strategic thinking needed to plan ahead and improve how we manage our assets.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll work alongside technicians, apprentices and contractors to keep our vehicle fleet and infrastructure safe, reliable and running smoothly. You'll troubleshoot operational challenges, oversee maintenance activities and work closely with leaders to keep things moving.

You’ll also take ownership of budgets, asset lifecycle planning and improvement projects, finding opportunities to improve reliability, reduce downtime and plan for the future. With operations across some of Aotearoa's most remote locations, occasional travel and out-of-hours support will be part of the role.

Based in Te Anau, you'll have Fiordland National Park on your doorstep, with endless opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating and exploring. It's a fantastic place to enjoy the outdoors, and embrace a more relaxed pace of life.

Who We're Looking For

• 10+ years' experience in asset management, ideally across a complex, asset-intensive environment
• A track record in maintenance planning at scale
• Experience managing or supporting an EAM system (Maximo, SAP, or similar)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills - you'll be trusted by people across the business and beyond it
• A practical, hands-on mindset with a genuine focus on continuous improvement
• Solid project management experience
