Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking an Assessor in Auckland to ensure compliance with the Privacy Act and Official Information Act. Qualifications

  • Customer service experience and understanding of Privacy and Official Information Acts.
  • Experience with risk assessing, dealing with issues and identifying solutions.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Knowledge and experience with standard office software products (Word, Excel).
  • Sensitivity to cross-cultural practices; knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures.

Permanent, fulltime position available, based in Auckland

We’re offering a competitive salary starting from $62,500 to $68,781, depending on experience

About the role

Join our team as an Assessor, where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Privacy Act and Official Information Act by responding to customers who request the information we hold about them. As part of the Customer Information Requests team, you will assess customer files and make informed decisions using a risk-based approach to provide the right information. You’ll communicate effectively with customers, other Oranga Tamariki teams and external agencies. You'll also be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in continuous learning and development. If you're detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of privacy legislation, we encourage you to apply.

This role is based in our Auckland office. Due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role, it will be beneficial for you to have the close support of the team around you. Candidates for this role are required to already be based in Auckland or be willing to relocate to Auckland for this opportunity.
