Job summary

Pakūranga College is seeking a passionate Arts Coordinator to support the Arts Faculty by promoting and coordinating the cocurricular programme and events. This permanent role is 35 hours per week during secondary term time, with occasional flexible working to accommodate events.

Job description

Pakūranga College is seeking to employ a passionate and dedicated Arts Coordinator to support the vibrant Arts Faculty by promoting and supporting the Arts cocurricular programme and events.

This position reports to the Head of the Arts Faculty.

This is a permanent position for 35 hours per week during secondary term time only. There will be occasions when there is a requirement for flexible working arrangements to accommodate events.

Key responsibilities

The position will include tasks such as:

Event Planning and Execution: Supporting the and implementation of faculty events.

Logistics and Calendar Coordination: Managing room reservations, event bookings, and calendar scheduling. Coordinate documentation and logistics for co-curricular trips and external competitions.

Rehearsal and Student Leadership Support: Oversee co-curricular group rehearsals, liaise with itinerant music teachers, and provide guidance to the student-led Arts Council.

Digital and Media Support: Providing technical and media assistance, including event photography, videography, digital archiving, video creation, and sound and lighting preparation.

Marketing and Promotion: Producing internal promotional materials, maintain visual displays across campus, and provide updates on student achievements for school communications.

Resource and Equipment Management: Oversee the inventory, ordering, storage, and maintenance of instruments, costumes, props, set and art supplies.

Provide cocurricular and events administrative duties, including co-curricular records management, daily notices, student service awards processing, leadership interviews and yearbook content preparation.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

Attention to detail and well organised

Broad understanding of or experience in the Arts

Experience in event coordination and the ability to work effectively during live performances

Digital competencies including video and photograph editing and work with document templates

Ability to work both independently and as a team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written

Initiative and problem-solving skills

Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines

Proven capacity to lead, mentor, and inspire young people in a collaborative environment

You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to apply for this position. Appointment and commencement is subject to a satisfactory police vet.
