Job summary

Roman & Brothers Construction Limited in Auckland, North Island, is seeking an Architectural Designer to prepare drawings and interpret plans. The role involves assisting Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in planning, interpreting regulations, and producing preliminary sketches and working drawings.

The ideal candidate will have NZQF Level 5+ in architecture or related field or at least three years of relevant experience, a clean police record, and the ability to pass drug tests.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 5+ qualification in architecture/architectural design or related field.
• Three years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a qualification.
• Clean police record and ability to pass drug tests.

Responsibilities

• assisting Construction Managers, Architects and Surveyors in planning and organisation
• interpreting plans, regulations and codes of practice
• preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications
• preparing, editing and revising plans, maps, charts and drawings
• inspecting work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards
• calculating costs and estimating time scales
• collecting data using surveying instruments and photogrammetric equipment
• performing routine computations and plotting preliminary data

Education

NZQF Level 5 or higher in architecture/architectural design
