Job summary

MIMICO Ltd offers an apprenticeship for a Heavy Equipment Service Technician (Material Processing). You will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining exposure to crushers, screens, conveyors, and power units across NZ sites.

You will assist with servicing, diagnostics, inspections, and equipment commissioning while learning OEM procedures and safety standards, with mentoring and ongoing training as part of the program.

Qualifications

• Interest in heavy equipment, mechanical systems, or plant machinery.
• Some mechanical experience through work, study, or personal projects.
• Eligibility to undertake an industry apprenticeship in a mechanical, heavy automotive, or plant equipment trade.
• NZ Restricted Driver Licence or working towards one.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with servicing, maintenance, and repair of material processing equipment
• Supporting fault-finding and diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
• Completing equipment inspections and documenting findings
• Assisting with component replacements, repairs, and equipment commissioning
• Learning and following OEM service procedures and quality standards
• Maintaining accurate service reports, job documentation, and time records
• Working safely and contributing to MIMICO's health and safety culture
• Building technical knowledge through apprenticeship training and OEM learning programmes

Apprentice Heavy Equipment Service Technician (Material Processing)

About you

• A minimum NZ Restricted Driver Licence (or working towards obtaining one)
