Job summary

Mount Pack & Cool's Apac operation in South Auckland is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the post-harvest facility that packs and coolstores kiwifruit for export and distribution. You will report to the Mpac group General Manager and oversee the Operations team, shaping Apac's strategy and delivering strong commercial results with growers and stakeholders.

We are looking for a hands-on leader with horticultural or similar experience, a proven track record of executing business

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of horticultural or similar business.
• Ability to execute business plans and grow opportunities.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Willingness to work weekends during peak season.

Mount Pack & Cool – Alfriston, North Island

Auckland Pack and Cool (Apac) is looking for an experienced General Manager to join our South Auckland post-harvest facility, which packs and coolstores kiwifruit for export and distribution by Zespri International Ltd. The role will report to the General Manager of the Mpac group.

Key responsibilities

• Management of the Apac business and Operations team
• Oversee the planning, resourcing and execution of Apac's strategy, optimising the commercial outcomes for both Apac and its growers
• Ensure high quality outcomes
• Build strong and successful relationships with Apac's growers and stakeholders
• Manage Apac's assets including production and coolstore plant, forklifts and buildings
• Proactively lead a Health and safety conscious culture

About you

• Proven success leading a Horticultural or similar business
• Ability to execute a business plan while identifying opportunities for future growth
• Negotiation and problem resolution experience
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• A hands-on approach to leadership and flexibility regarding working hours, including weekends due to seasonal demands
• Right to work in New Zealand
