Job summary

Fresh Direct Floral - Group in Auckland, Mount Wellington, is seeking a Packhouse Operations Manager to lead a multi-cultural team of up to 35 staff. You will drive KPI attainment, implement efficient systems, and coordinate between packhouse and stakeholders.

The role requires 3+ years in staff management and strong production planning skills. The position is permanent, full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work to meet business needs, starting at 5:00am.

About the role:

Reporting to the General Manager, this role takes responsibility for the packhouse which runs 7 days a week to prepare and pack pot plants and flowers for supermarkets all over New Zealand. It has a multi-cultural team of up to 35 staff. We are looking for someone who has an eye for efficiencies and can coordinate people and systems to deliver high-quality outcomes. Floral experience is not required but a growth mindset is a must!

Permanent Full-Time.Monday - Friday, but weekends when reasonably required to meet business need.5.00am start times.

This role is based in Mount Wellington, Auckland.

You will be responsible for:

Ensuring the packhouse meets KPIS in terms of labour targets, product quality standards, deadlines, and Health and Safety.

Implementing systems and processes to ensure KPIS are consistently met.

Staff management, engagement, training, development, & facilitating timely and helpful communication between the packhouse and other stakeholders.

What kind of candidate are we looking for?

3+ years of staff management experience required.

Excellent production planning abilities.

A selfless leader - someone who demonstrates a team spirit, develops those around them, and knows the strength of the wolf is the pack!

Needs to be as comfortable crunching the numbers and developing KPIs as they are on the floor leading the team.

Is data driven and is confident using Microsoft Excel and other computer systems.

Is high energy, enjoys problem solving, reliable, honest, and calm under pressure.

Highly organised and systems oriented but an adaptable nature to flow with the dynamic character of the 'fresh' industry.
