Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of facilities systems at remote research sites. You will lead small teams, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure safety and compliance across all tasks.

The role requires strong HVAC/electrical skills, experience with Maximo, and the ability to operate under harsh environmental conditions, including remote deployments to Antarctica for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in facilities maintenance including preventive and corrective maintenance in industrial/commercial settings.
• Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under safety guidelines.
• Willingness to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on buildings, systems, and equipment.
• Lead and oversee maintenance tasks, coordinating with other trades and supervisors.
• Perform major overhauls on facilities-related equipment including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Develop and document work plans, safety analyses, and procedures.
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside ordinary hours.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and inventory, using Maximo.
