Te Nehenehenui (TNN) is the Post Settlement Governance Entity for Maniapoto. TNN is responsible for the management of assets to meet the needs and aspirations of our people and to provide for future generations.

TNN Media is seeking an energetic and talented Announcer / Podcaster to create compelling content that amplifies the voice of Maniapoto and connects with audiences across radio, podcast and digital platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape modern Māori media while preserving and promoting the stories, identity, culture and aspirations of Maniapoto and Te Nehenehenui.
This is a permanent, full-time role and is based either in our Te Kūiti and/or Hamilton Office.
As an Announcer / Podcaster, you will produce engaging and culturally grounded content that informs, entertains and inspires. Working within the TNN Media team, you will create content for live broadcasts, convert content into on-demand formats, and help grow audience engagement across multiple channels.
Key responsibilities:
Producing high-quality radio, podcast and digital content
Developing engaging stories that reflect the voice and identity of Maniapoto
Converting live broadcast content into podcasts and on-demand media
Growing audience engagement, particularly amongst rangatahi
Managing content planning, recording, editing and production schedules
Engaging with whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori stakeholders
Representing TNN Media professionally at community and iwi events
Maintaining strong cultural integrity, tikanga and te reo Māori across all content
Advanced proficiency in te reo Māori (Level 7 qualification or equivalent proficiency)
Relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in broadcasting, content creation and/or media
Full New Zealand Driver Licence
Strong understanding of tikanga Māori and kaupapa Māori environments
Experience engaging with Māori and community audiences
This is a permanent, full-time role and is based either in our Te Kūiti or Hamilton Office.
