Job summary

Radio New Zealand International is seeking a journalist with proven experience in breaking news and original stories for radio, current affairs programmes and digital platforms. You will be organised, efficient and reliable, using your initiative to report on a mix of stories that matter.

You must be ready to hit the road, relying on key contacts and sources to drive ideas and deliver first-class journalism.

Qualifications

  • Superior writing, interviewing and live broadcasting skills.
  • Skilled reporter.
  • Experience working as a journalist.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, curiosity, speed and creativity.
  • File written, audio and visual content to tight radio and digital deadlines.
  • Understand the issues affecting the Wellington region and the lower North Island.
  • Flexible and able to commit to shift work.
  • Must have a full driver licence.
