Job summary

Cromwell Architectural Envelopes Limited is seeking two experienced Sheetmetal Fabricators and installers in Otago. The role involves fabricating and installing standing seam metal roofing, cladding, flashings and rainwater goods, with responsibility for workshop planning and site travel in line with safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least five years of relevant experience and are proficient in reading drawings, with a focus on non-ferrous materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in sheetmetal fabrication and installation.
• Experience with standing seam roofing and non-ferrous metals.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install standing seam metal roofing, cladding, flashings and rainwater goods.
• Organise flashing orders lists for workshop fabrication.
• Position parts and subassemblies.
• Operate fabricating machines such as rolls, shears, and folding machine.
• Supervise junior staff.
• Travel to project sites as required by H&S.

Job Description

Registrations of interest are encouraged for two full-time and permanent positions available now in the Otago region. We are a roofing and cladding company working on some of the most stunning and challenging homes and commercial projects in the South Island.
We are looking for two experienced Sheetmetal Fabricators and installers.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

• Fabricating and installing European style standing seam metal roofing, cladding, flashings and rainwater goods, including non-ferrous material, slate and lead
• Organising flashing orders lists for workshop fabrication
• Positionings parts and subassemblies
• Operating fabricating machines such as rolls, shears, and folding machine
• Ensuring all customer interactions are positive, polite, and respectful
• Conducting all interactions with colleagues and managers in an open and collaborative manner to facilitate the best outcome for all required tasks
• Attending staff meetings and training as required
• Contributing to the implementation of the Safety Management System and of the equipment inventory
• Travelling to the projects site, subject to H&S requirements
• Supervising junior staff

The minimum requirements for the job are:

• High levels of experience and craftmanship in the fabrication and installation of standing seam metal roofing, cladding, flashings and rainwater goods
• A minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
• Experience with non-ferrous metals like copper, zinc, aluminium slate and lead
• Excellent knowledge of reading and interpreting drawings
• Honesty and reliability with solution orientated focus
