Job summary

Air New Zealand is seeking an Airworthiness Engineering Lead (Chapter Lead) to shape standards, capability and engineering excellence across the Chapter. You will combine deep technical expertise with people leadership to grow talent, set standards and deliver high-quality outcomes while contributing as a Squad member.

You will work closely with Product Owners and Tribe Leads to resolve roadblocks, coach Chapter members and drive knowledge sharing across the Chapter in a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Strong subject matter expertise within airworthiness engineering.
• Experience developing methods, competencies and work standards.
• Experience contributing to cross-functional projects and collaboration.
• Proven leadership, coaching and people development experience.
• Strong communication skills; able to simplify complex concepts.
• Collaborative mindset with transparency, empowerment and trust.
• Willingness to participate in relevant domain activities and groups.

Responsibilities

• Shape and embed clear work standards and competencies across the Chapter.
• Develop and implement a capability framework for Cabin Interiors engineers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Tribe Leads and other leaders to remove roadblocks.
• Coach and develop Chapter members to enable growth and progression.
• Build knowledge-sharing practices for specialist expertise to spread across the Chapter.
• Lead and inspire thought leadership within your area of expertise.
• Oversee feedback and performance reviews for Chapter members with squads.
• Contribute to QBR planning and squad performance discussions.
