Job summary

Air New Zealand Limited is seeking an Airworthiness Engineer in Auckland to apply hands-on aircraft experience to challenging technical problems. This permanent, full-time role focuses on safety, reliability and cost-effective operations within the Airworthiness Team.

You will analyse data, produce technical reports, and influence decisions while collaborating with stakeholders across the airline. The position offers strong development opportunities and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• At least two years of mechanical experience working on large commercial aircraft.
• Aerospace or Aviation Engineering qualification is preferred, or relevant equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience in an aircraft maintenance environment is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills with the ability to influence decisions.
• Confident written and verbal communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• SAP knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

Kia ora! Your engineering judgement can directly influence the safety, reliability and performance of Air New Zealand’s fleet. As an Airworthiness Engineer, you’ll apply your hands‑on aircraft experience to complex technical challenges, helping ensure our aircraft continue to operate safely, reliably and cost‑effectively.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week, within our Airworthiness Team in Auckland. You’ll join a highly skilled group of technical specialists where your expertise and perspective will be valued, while building your capability across a broad range of engineering challenges.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable working through complex engineering challenges in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

You’ll bring:

• At least two years of mechanical experience working on large commercial aircraft.
• An Aerospace or Aviation Engineering qualification is preferred, or relevant equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience in an aircraft maintenance environment would be an advantage.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to develop sound solutions and influence decisions.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Strong computer skills, with SAP knowledge beneficial but not essential.

The salary range for this position is NZD $100,812 to $126,012 per annum, depending on relevant skills and experience.
