Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, CS or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in AI ethics, technology governance, or related area.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and societal implications.
• Knowledge of ethical frameworks, principles, and regulations related to AI.
• Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders across departments.
• Experience in policy development and implementation is a plus.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, POPIA) is advantageous.
• Passion for responsible technology and ethical innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI ethics policies and governance frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI projects.
• Advise on fairness, accountability, transparency, and privacy in AI systems.
• Monitor AI development and deployment for ethical compliance.
• Provide training on AI ethics to internal teams.
• Liaise with legal, compliance, and external stakeholders on ethical matters.
• Stay abreast of evolving AI ethics research, regulations, and best practices.
• Contribute to the development of ethical AI guidelines and standards.
• Investigate and report on ethical concerns related to AI.
• Promote a culture of ethical awareness and responsible innovation within the organization.
