Job summary

Propellerhead is seeking a Technical Strategist in Auckland to lead the architecture and delivery of AI-enabled software platforms. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic direction, collaborating with Product Strategists to shape technical specifications for client products.

You will guide complex system designs, ensure alignment with our technical strategy, and work with the Chief Technologist and Engineering Principal to apply standards, patterns, and tooling in client contexts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing multi-tier and distributed applications.
• Agentic-first: using AI to prototype and direct AI-assisted delivery pipelines.
• Strong communicator and presenter to senior stakeholders.
• Experience with React UIs and services in C#; confidence with other languages (TS, Java, Go, Rust).
• Hands-on design of complex software, ideally for corporate enterprises.
• Experience designing solutions on Azure and building CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Authoring and communicating solution architecture with development teams.
• Championing Propellerhead's technical strategy and aligning design with vision.
• Building trusted relationships with client decision-makers and explaining designs to technologists.
• Serving as the go-to technical lead for client solutions and facilitating prerequisites for delivery.
