Job summary

Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) is seeking an Agri Manager in Canterbury to be the vital link between our herd improvement solutions and farmers across the region. You will champion customer relationships, drive sales, and bring the voice of the customer into everything we do.

You will help farmers optimise livestock, grow sustainable businesses, and shape the future of dairy farming in New Zealand, using data to inform visits and decisions, while thriving in a supportive, team-driven

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with farmers and colleagues.
  • Track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and visits.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Maximise relationships with existing Canterbury customers and develop new ones.
  • Implement LIC solutions and achieve sales targets in your area.
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Undertake educational and promotional activities with farmers.

About The Role

As an Agri Manager at LIC, you1 be the vital link between our innovative herd improvement solutions and the farmers who rely on them. You1 champion customer relationships, drive sales performance, and bring the voice of the customer into everything we do. This role is about making a real impacthelping farmers optimise their livestock, grow sustainable businesses, and shape the future of dairy farming in New Zealand.

Key Focus Areas Include
  • Maximising relationships with existing customers and actively building relationships with new customers across the Canterbury region.
  • Successful implementation of LIC solutions and the achievement of sales targets in your area.
  • Identifying new business opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Undertaking educational and promotional initiatives with farmers.
About You

Making connections and building relationships will come easily to you, and you\'ll genuinely enjoy customer interactions. Having a background in dairy would be advantageous, but most importantly, you\'ll understand and empathise with the unique challenges our farmers face, and build trust and credibility with them.

You\'ll be able to use data and insights to make effective decisions and you\'ll use this information to come well-prepared to your customer visits.

  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work autonomously and proactively manage your day.
  • Be results-focused with a track record of achieving great sales results.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, internally and externally.
  • Great problem-solving skills and ability to match solutions to customers.
  • Confident and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • A tertiary qualification in this field is advantageous.
