Job summary

Oceania in Blenheim is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team at Redwood Village. You’ll work Tuesday to Friday, 5 hours per day, collaborating with our Diversional Therapist to design engaging activities for residents and support their participation.

We value great people skills, empathy for the elderly, clear communication, and reliable IT abilities. A NZ driver's licence and working rights are required; weekend availability is preferred to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and coordinating activities.
• Strong empathy and people skills with elderly residents.
• Excellent communication and IT skills.
• Energetic personality and flexible to work weekends.
• Full working rights in New Zealand.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working closely with our Diversional Therapist to create and implement fun and varied activities programmes for our residents
• Understanding residents’ needs and abilities and encouraging them to take part in activities
• Following our company policies and procedures to create a safe environment for our residents.

What you’ll bring:

• Previous experience in planning and coordinating activities
• Great people skills with empathy for the elderly
• Excellent communication and IT skills
• A vibrant and energetic personality
• A clean NZ drivers' licence
• Flexibility to work over the weekends
• All applicants must have full working rights in New Zealand
