Job summary

AGB Stone in New Zealand invites motivated school leavers to join a three-year Operations Cadetship. No experience required; you will learn hands-on across stone fabrication, CNC machinery, CAD, and digital templating, progressing from hands-on tasks to leadership roles.

You will be mentored, assessed with regular feedback, and positioned for growth within AGB’s seven factories nationwide, with a pathway to leadership and increased remuneration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

AGB and Better Benchtops are looking for ONE exceptional young person to join our three-year Operations Cadetship.

You don’t need experience. You don’t need to know anything about stone.

You do need potential.

Over your first two years, you’ll learn the whole operation — starting with your hands and developing into technology, machinery and digital skills.

You’ll learn:

Installation

• Fabrication
• Polishing
• CNC Machinery
• Machine Programming
• CAD
• Digital Templating
• Problem Solving
• Production

You’ll work alongside experienced people, be challenged every day and progressively take on more responsibility.

Then comes Year Three — Leadership.

We’ll keep developing your skills in leading people, mentoring others, managing work, solving bigger problems and understanding how to make a great operation even better.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is energetic, positive and keen to get stuck in
• Learns quickly and asks questions
• Is practical and enjoys figuring out how things work
• Takes pride in doing things properly
• Has an eye for detail
• Naturally steps up and takes responsibility
• Has the confidence to have a go
• Is someone people naturally look to for leadership

You may be a school leaver with no experience.

You may have decided that sitting in a lecture theatre for three years isn’t your path.

That’s OK.

We’re more interested in what you could become than what you’ve done already.

You’ll receive structured training, mentoring, regular feedback and opportunities to grow your skills, responsibilities and remuneration throughout the programme.

As you progress, we will work out where your natural talent is best suited — including future technical and leadership opportunities within one of AGB’s 7 factories across New Zealand.
