Job summary

Davin Industries in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Afternoon Shift Supervisor to lead a busy sheet metal fabrication team. You will oversee daily production operations, coordinate workflow, and ensure targets, quality, and safety standards are consistently met.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, driving productivity, and mentoring staff on processes, machinery, and safety. A permanent, afternoon shift with opportunities for growth is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or supervisory role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience within sheet metal fabrication or engineering manufacturing is highly regarded.
• Good understanding of production processes and workflow management.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support factory staff across daily operations.
• Coordinate workflow and production schedules to meet deadlines.
• Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed to specification.
• Train and mentor staff on processes, machinery, and safety procedures.
• Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture.
• Assist with problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with management regarding production priorities and staffing requirements.
• Ensure machinery and equipment are operated safely and efficiently.
