Skids is seeking a Programme Assistant to help create a safe, supportive after-school environment where children can learn, grow, and have fun in Wellington. You will work with the Programme Manager to support tamariki through homework help, creative activities, games, and recreational experiences while ensuring every child feels included and valued.

You will roster a minimum of 6 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, with after-school shifts from 2:10pm to 5:30pm and potential additional

Qualifications

• Experience with children through babysitting, coaching, tutoring, childcare, holiday programmes, volunteering, youth groups, or similar activities.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Responsabilités

• Support and supervise tamariki in a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
• Assist children with homework and learning activities to build confidence and independence.
• Deliver engaging activities including arts, crafts, sports, games, STEM challenges, baking, and creative projects.
• Support the Programme Manager to ensure sessions run smoothly and children stay engaged.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming programme environment.
• Monitor wellbeing and communicate safety or welfare concerns to the Programme Manager.
• Be a positive role model contributing to a fun, supportive programme culture.
