Job summary

Stats NZ in Wellington seeks TetūngaAs Advisor - Content and Channels to lead daily social media activity, craft engaging digital content including short-form video, and contribute to broad communications projects. The role prioritises audience-focused storytelling and adapting content for multiple channels within a centralised communications function.

You will collaborate with the Office of the Chief Executive’s Communications Team, apply cultural capability, and help shape how Stats NZ

Qualifications

  • Experience creating, publishing and evaluating social media and digital content for an organisation.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and engaging.
  • Practical experience creating short‑form video and simple visual content.
  • Understanding of social media analytics, audience insights and how to use them to improve content.
  • The ability to tailor communications for different channels and audiences.
  • Strong relationship‑building, organisation and time‑management skills.
  • Creativity, sound judgement and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field, or equivalent knowledge.

The role | TetūngaAs Advisor - Content and Channels

Bring your creativity and digital storytelling skills to a role where you can make a visible impact. Permanent, Full-time role based in Wellington. You will be part of the Communications Team within the Office of the Chief Executive. We are a centralised communications and marketing function providing strategic and tactical marketing and communications support across Stats NZ. You’ll help shape how Stats NZ connects with its audiences through engaging, audience-focused communications. You’ll take the day‑to‑day lead for our social media activity, create digital content including short‑form video, and contribute to wider communications and marketing projects across a broad range of topics. This is an opportunity to bring fresh ideas, respond to emerging trends and take real ownership of our social and digital channels.

Salary: $77,259 - $90,893 + KiwiSaver
