Job summary

Stats NZ | Tatauranga Aotearoa is seeking an Advisor - Content and Channels to join the Communications Team in Wellington. You’ll lead our social media day-to-day and shape how we connect with audiences through engaging digital content.

You’ll create short-form video, contribute to broad marketing projects, and apply audience insights to improve content. A tertiary qualification in communications or related field is preferred, with a willingness to learn and adapt.

  • Practical experience creating short-form video and simple visual content.
  • An understanding of social media analytics, audience insights and how to use them to improve content.

  • Strong relationship-building, organisation and time-management skills.
  • Creativity, sound judgement and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field, or equivalent knowledge.

The role | Te tūnga

As Advisor - Content and Channels, you will be part of the Communications Team within the Office of the Chief Executive. We are a centralised communications and marketing function providing strategic and tactical marketing and communications support across Stats NZ.

You’ll help shape how Stats NZ connects with its audiences through engaging, audience-focused communications. You’ll take the day-to-day lead for our social media activity, create digital content including short-form video, and contribute to wider communications and marketing projects across a broad range of topics. This is an opportunity to bring fresh ideas, respond to emerging trends and take real ownership of our social and digital channels.
