Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora at Whangarei Hospital is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to lead advanced MSK spinal care and contribute to the National Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal Hospital Pathway.

You will work within the Physiotherapy team alongside orthopaedic services to deliver integrated care, support efficient clinical management for orthopaedic conditions (notably osteoarthritis), and advance interdisciplinary models in the community.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC.
• Minimum of five years' clinical practice, with at least three years in orthopaedic/musculoskeletal care.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead change within interdisciplinary models and advance clinical pathways.
• Provide advanced physiotherapy care for orthopaedic conditions, particularly osteoarthritis.
• Work within the Physiotherapy team and with orthopaedic services to meet pathway requirements.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Orthopaedic Physiotherapist who is passionate about interdisciplinary models, and has the skills required to lead change. This role is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the National Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal Hospital Pathway in Te Tai Tokerau, and to provide advanced physiotherapy into our local pathways to support efficient and effective clinical management for those with orthopaedic conditions (specifically osteoarthritis) in our community.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Advanced Orthopaedic Physiotherapist is part of the Physiotherapy team, and will work closely alongside orthopaedic services to deliver on the requirements of this role. There role will be part of a national clinical practice network.

About You

• Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC
• Minimum of five years' clinical practice, with at least three years working in the orthopaedic/musculoskeletal area
• You will have superb communication skills and the ability to form strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across a range of settings
• Able to work autonomously and harmoniously with other health professionals
• Clear, concise recording and reporting
