Job summary

Middlemore Hospital in Auckland seeks an Allied Health Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist to lead the Musculoskeletal Orthopaedic hospital pathway and deliver expert, patient-centred care. Based at Middlemore, you will drive improvements and work with Orthopaedic Surgical Services for FSA referrals, exercising advanced clinical skills and leadership.

The role supports service development, professional growth, and contributes to organisational strategy and policy in Counties Manukau Health.

Qualifications

Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and current APC.
Pursuing a relevant master's or higher qualification.
Minimum 8 years of clinical experience, including 3 years in orthopaedics & MSK physiotherapy.
Demonstrated advanced clinical practice competencies for this pathway.
Experience supervising and mentoring clinicians.
Programme rollout, management, reporting and governance expertise.
Experience in research, evaluation and audit.
Cultural awareness and understanding.
Annual practising certificate refunded.

Responsibilities

Lead, implement improvements and oversee the Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal hospital pathway.
Provide patient and whānau-centred clinical care in an expert capacity.
Deliver Physiotherapy-led first specialist appointments for orthopaedic referrals.
Coordinate care with Orthopaedic Surgical Services and lead high-level investigations and interventions.
Contribute to specialist service development, research, policy and strategy.
