Responsibilities

About the Role

The primary purpose of the role is to provide highquality, confidential, and proactive administrative assistance to the District Chief Midwife (DCM), Midwifery Managers and Charge Nurse Manager, to enable effective leadership of maternity clinical governance, service performance, and operational delivery.

About the Team/Service

The Womens Health team at Waikato Hospital serves a diverse population of urban and rural women from Hamilton city and the Waikato region with over five thousand births per annum. The families of our region have a range of superb primary birthing units to choose from and when complexity arises, they are also able to access care from the team at Waikato Hospital.

We pride ourselves on having a fabulous midwifery team, who are passionate about supporting our newly graduated midwives. We offer a comprehensive first year of practice programme. We are committed to building close relationships with our primary care midwives from the community (LMC midwives) and strive to engage their valuable insight as part of our quality improvement initiatives.
