Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 16th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

We're seeking a warm and reliable Administrator, Community Hub & Outreach to join our team.

You'll be the welcoming first point of contact for our Community Hub & Outreach, in person, by phone and by email, as part of our Enabling Communities prototype.

The hub is often the first face whānau see when reaching out for support, some of whom may be nervous about doing so, and you'll help make sure they feel welcome and are connected to the right kaimahi, service or information.

You'll also capture the visitor and enquiry information the programme needs for reporting and evaluation and support the Hub and Outreach team's day to day administration.

As Administrator, Community Hub & Outreach you'll be:

  • Welcoming whānau and manuhiri to the hub and connecting them with the right support
  • Answering calls and emails, logging enquiries and resolving or routing them appropriately
  • Providing day to day administrative support to the Operations Manager and hub and outreach team

The mahi is part of a programme where we'll be testing new ways of working, and your knowledge and experience will contribute to the design and learnings. You will report to the Operations Manager, Hub and Outreach.

This is a full-time fixed-term role ending 30 June 2027 because it supports the time-limited Enabling Communities prototype. Applications from people seeking an agreed secondment may also be considered. The role is based in Kaikohe, and travel may be required from time to time.

You're able to make people feel welcome and at ease, especially whānau who may be nervous about reaching out.

You have experience in reception, front of house, contact centre or customer-facing administration, and enjoy juggling the front desk, phones, email and admin tasks calmly and reliably.

You're accurate with data entry and record keeping, and comfortable giving honest, practical feedback on what is and isn't working during testing.

You support the kaitiakitanga of information and data, ensuring confidentiality and privacy are upheld.

You bring mana-enhancing behaviours and are comfortable working in an iwi setting, upholding tikanga in everything you do.

You're comfortable in ambiguous scenarios and are open and flexible to change. We are establishing and running a prototype, and you will be a key enabler of the testing and the learnings it generates.

We are seeking someone who will contribute positively to a collaborative, high-trust and kaupapa-driven team, and demonstrate mana-enhancing behaviour in their work.

You'll be based in Tai Tokerau/Northland (Kaikohe), working alongside our hub practice team and wider Hub and Outreach team.

You'll also be part of an organisation that has over 30 years’ experience of providing social services across the rohe.

Ngāpuhi Iwi Social Services provides a range of support and services including youth services, family harm support, care and mātua atawhai services and more.

We provide opportunities for our kaimahi to develop their reo Māori and knowledge of te ao Māori and Ngāpuhitanga in a supportive and encouraging environment.

A full New Zealand driver's licence is required, and appointment is subject to pre-employment checks.

The closing date and time, Wednesday 16th September at 5:00pm.
