Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Invercargill is seeking an Allied Health Clinical Coordinator – Acutes to lead day-to-day interprofessional coordination across Southland Hospital's acute wards while maintaining a portion of direct clinical practice.

You will coordinate Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Allied Health Assistants to support timely care, optimize patient pathways, and improve patient flow.

Qualifications

• Five years of clinical experience, with at least three years in acute care.
• Registration with a NZ Allied Health body and current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Understanding of scopes of Allied Health professions in acute inpatient settings.
• Ability to coordinate referrals, balance caseloads and troubleshoot patient flow with the MDT.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in practice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals and caseload management to ensure timely access to Allied Health services.
• Direct daily utilisation of staff and balance skill mix to meet patient demand.
• Troubleshoot barriers to patient flow and address care transition challenges.
• Coordinate staffing requirements, including leave planning and service coverage.
• Facilitate effective communication within the multidisciplinary team and represent Allied Health in forums.
• Provide direct clinical care within scope in acute wards.
