Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit as Associate Clinical Nurse Manager in Christchurch. The role focuses on on-floor leadership, staff development and delivering high-quality endoscopy care.

The unit performs diagnostic and interventional procedures with a strong teaching and research ethos, collaborating across hospital services to provide outstanding patient-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC.
  • Strong leadership experience with highly effective interpersonal skills.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in the endoscopy nursing specialty.
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards one.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with a solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-floor leadership in the endoscopy unit.
  • Support staff and collaborate with the senior nursing team.

Aboutthe Role and Service

Anopportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse; with expert endoscopy knowledge and skills to join our teamas an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager.

TheGastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit is a dynamic, patient focused unit. We prideourselves in being innovative, forward thinking and up to date with technologyand change.

TheGastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit undertakes 14,000+ diagnosticand interventional endoscopy procedures per year and provides othergastrointestinal services to the Canterbury population.

Itis also a secondary and tertiary referral service for the South Island, with astrong research programme that is recognised internationally, in addition to anactive undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching programme.

Mostof our nursing team, work in the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit; apurpose-built facility with eight procedure rooms andtwo recovery areas across two floors. The service also providesspecialist endoscopy nursing support to other areas of the ChristchurchHospital campus such as Waipapa, Parkside Operating Theatres, InterventionalRadiology, and ICU. The endoscopy unit is operational Monday to Friday, with anafter-hours on-call nursing service.

Weare looking for a dynamic individual who will provide effective leadership 'onthe floor' in the endoscopy unit, supporting our staff and work closely withour senior nursing team.

Youwill have a passion for endoscopy and people and a commitment to qualityimprovements, ensuring optimum care is provided to our patients.

Thisrole requires the following:

  • Registeredwith the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
  • Strongleadership experience with highly effective interpersonal skills
  • Expertknowledge and experience in the endoscopy nursing specialty
  • Abilityto manage complex situations, with an innovative and solution focusedapproach.
  • Currentlyhold or be working towards a relevant Post Graduate qualification.
