Aboutthe Role
TheGastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit is a dynamic, patient-focused service providinga wide range of diagnostic and interventional endoscopy procedures. As aRegistered Nurse, you will work rostered shifts Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6:00 pm and participate in an on-call rosterafter hours.
Inthis role you will care for patients undergoing both diagnostic and therapeuticendoscopy procedures, while working within a highly skilled multidisciplinaryteam. This is a fast-paced clinical environment where flexibility, strongclinical judgement, and excellent teamwork are essential.
We have permanent roles available and are open to considering FTE from 0.6FTE - 1.0FTE (24 - 40 hours per week). We also have a fixed-term position available due to parental leave at 0.8FTE until 14/09/2027. TheGastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit undertakes more than 14,000 diagnostic andinterventional procedures annually and provides specialised gastrointestinaland respiratory services to the Canterbury population. The service also acts asa secondary and tertiary referral centre for the South Island.
Theunit operates from a purpose-built facility at Christchurch Hospital, featuringeight procedure rooms and two recovery areas across twofloors. The service also provides specialist endoscopy nursing supportto other areas of the hospital campus including Waipapa, Parkside OperatingTheatres, Interventional Radiology, and ICU. In addition to clinicalexcellence, the service has a strong research programme recognisedinternationally and an active undergraduate and postgraduate teachingprogramme.
