Job summary

Glen Eden Community House is seeking an organised and detail‑oriented Accounts & Grants Coordinator to join our team on a permanent part‑time basis. This 10‑hour‑per‑week role sits in Glen Eden, with flexibility on how the hours are worked.

Qualifications

  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand payroll and financial requirements.
  • Experience preparing grant applications, funding reports and acquittals.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Processing fortnightly payroll.
  • Completing bank and financial reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Supporting GST, PAYE and KiwiSaver compliance.
  • Liaising with the external accountant.
  • Assisting with financial reporting for management and governance.
  • Supporting cash flow monitoring.
  • Assisting with year-end and audit requirements.
  • Identifying suitable funding opportunities.
  • Maintaining a grants calendar and funding pipeline.
  • Preparing funding applications.
  • Coordinating grant reporting and acquittals.
  • Monitoring funding expenditure and compliance.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with funders.

Glen Eden Community House is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Accounts & Grants Coordinator to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your financial administration skills with grant and funding coordination to help support programs and services that make a real difference in the Glen Eden community.

Working closely with the Manager, Committee, and external accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation's financial systems are accurate, compliant, and sustainable, while helping secure and manage funding that enables our community work to thrive.

About the Role

This permanent part-time position offers 10 hours per week with flexibility around how those hours are worked.

Key responsibilities include:
Accounts & Payroll
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing
  • Knowledge of New Zealand payroll and financial requirements
  • Experience preparing grant applications, funding reports and acquittals
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using accounting and payroll software such as Xero and Smartly (or the ability to learn quickly)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • A commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
  • We would love to hear from you if you also have:
  • Experience working in the not-for-profit or community sector
  • Knowledge of New Zealand community and philanthropic funding organisations
  • Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
  • Relevant accounting, finance, business or related qualifications
